Description
** LOCATION CHANGE **
Please note that this luncheon, and all upcoming luncheons until further notice, will take place in the Venue at Madison Avenue Central Park.
PROGRAM: Elora Forshee, Director of Sedgwick County Emergency Communications (911), will join us for an informative, behind-the-scenes look at our local 911 system and the critical role it plays in keeping our community safe. Elora will explain how the 911 system operates, what callers can expect when they dial 911, and the challenges dispatchers and call takers face each day. She will also share actual audio from local 911 calls, giving attendees a firsthand look at the situations these professionals encounter and how they respond during emergencies. As the first point of communication between citizens in need and emergency responders, 911 dispatchers and call takers play an essential role in coordinating police, fire, and EMS response throughout Sedgwick County. We hope you’ll join us for this informative look at the people, technology, and decision-making behind our local 911 emergency communications system.
